Senators name Boucher head coach

The Ottawa Senators have named Guy Boucher as the 12th head coach in franchise history, signing him to a three-year contract.

Boucher, 44, spent parts of the last three seasons as the head coach of SC Bern of the National League A in Switzerland, posting a 44-29-5 record.

Prior to joining SC Bern, Boucher spent two-plus seasons as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning, posting a 97-78-20 record in 195 games, leading them to the Eastern Conference Final in 2010-11.

In addition to his time with the Lightning and SC Bern, he spent one season as head coach of the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs, leading them to a North Division Championship in 2009-10.
