Sens interested in Moulson

The Ottawa Senators are looking to add a top-six winger to play alongside center Jason Spezza and would like to acquire one before the March 5 trade deadline.

According to TSN, the Sens are looking at Buffalo Sabres sniper Matt Moulson, who is expected to be moved by the deadline.

"Moulson will be a very popular name as the March deadline approaches," said TSN/ESPN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun during TSN's Insider Trading segment on Tuesday night.

"A little bit of a connection with the Senators, as GM Bryan Murray's nephew Tim Murray is now GM in Buffalo. Moulson's a guy that if the Senators can stay in the playoff mix over the next few weeks, I believe they will make inquiries on him."

Moulson has also attracted the interest of the Los Angeles Kings, Phoenix Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens, among other clubs.

Moulson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, and while he has liked his time in Buffalo thus far, sources close to the team has told TFP the Sabres are likely to trade him.
