Alfredsson closer to decision
TheFourthPeriod.com

After Nicklas Lidstrom made his decision to retire, all of the focus now shifts to another Swedish star, Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson.

Alfredsson, who has one-year left on his contract that pays him $1 million, returned to Ottawa after playing in the World Championships, where he indicated that he might have played his last game.

The Ottawa Sun reports the 39-year-old is expected to make his decision in the near future, as he doesn't want to let GM Bryan Murray waiting for an answer once free agency gets underway July 1.

If Alfredsson does call it quits, the Sun indicates there's a position in the Senators' front office for him.
