Sens won't give away top prospects
TheFourthPeriod.com

Although the Senators have been looking to add a two-way forward to their lineup before the trade deadline, the asking price appears to be one of the Sens' top prospects.

According to ESPN.com, Senators GM Bryan Murray is refusing to pay such a price.

"I'm not doing that, I can tell you that," Murray told ESPN.com. "I'm not looking for a short-term fix."

The Senators continue to plan for the future as they focus on developing a young and talented team.

However, if a top-six winger with an expiring contract is available for an affordable return, Murray is expected to consider it.

"I'd be OK with a rental if it was the right price," said Murray.

Contrary to last season, the Sens are likely to be buyers at the deadline, looking to push for a playoff run as they sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
