Senators acquire Turris from Coyotes
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Ottawa Senators have acquired center Kyle Turris from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for defenceman David Rundblad and a second round draft pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Turris, 22, established career highs in games (65), goals (11), assists (14) and points (25) with the Phoenix Coyotes in 2010-11.

A native of Burnaby, B.C., Turris has skated in 137 career NHL contests scoring 19 goals while adding 27 assists and 43 penalty minutes. He was selected with the third overall pick by Phoenix in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Turris signed a two-year, $2.8 million contract with the Coyotes last month.

Rundblad, who made his NHL debut with the Senators in the team's season-opening game on Oct. 7 at Detroit, was acquired by Ottawa from the St. Louis Blues on June 25, 2010. In 24 career NHL games (all with the Senators), he registered one goal and three assists.
