Senators interested in coach Tortorella?

TheFourthPeriod.com

The Senators will be searching for a new head coach this off-season, and the Ottawa Citizen suggests Tampa Bay bench boss John Tortorella might be the perfect fit.

Tortorella has one-year remaining on his contract with the Lightning worth $1.3 million, and his future with the Bolts has come in question.

It was reported that Tortorella suggested it might be time for him to step aside, but the veteran coach told a Tampa radio station he wants to stay and help the team regain its winning ways.

With new ownership in Tampa, Tortorella might not live out the rest of his contract.

According to the Citizen, there's speculated that new Lightning owner Oren Koules is interested in former Los Angeles Kings coach Barry Melrose as his choice to lead the Lightning.

Senators GM Bryan Murray is in no rush to find a new coach, but would like to have one in place by the NHL Entry Draft in late June.
