As it has been widely reported, the Ottawa Senators pitched a couple of offers to the Rangers for Del Zotto, but a deal was not appealing enough for the Rangers to accept.
The Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes had also expressed an interest in Del Zotto, but the Oilers are primarily looking for a shutdown defenseman and Hurricanes winger Tuomo Ruutu is not of interest to the Rangers.
A source close to the Rangers told TFP the Rangers are set on trading the 23-year-old blueliner, but are trying to weigh all of their options before pulling the trigger on a deal.
The Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres are also believed to have some interest in Del Zotto, who has collected one goal and three assists in 19 games.
Del Zotto was scratched again for Wednesday night's game against the Florida Panthers.
