Rangers looking at trade options
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Rangers' struggles to start the season have been evident, and despite key injuries, management is scouring the market for some upgrades.

Rangers GM Glen Sather and his staff have been making calls and are looking to see who might be available for trade.

With Rick Nash, Carl Hagelin and Ryan Callahan out of action, the team's offensive abilities are limited

It's believed the Blueshirts would like to get their hands on a top-six forward. The club currently sits 28th in the NHL in goals-per-game, but they also sit dead last in goals-against.

While much of the blame can be placed on goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, the team's lack of scoring hasn't helped in the first seven games of the season.

"I need to come up with the one save to give the team a little more confidence," said Lundqvist told the New York Post. "The way things are going for us, it's tough to fall behind.

"It starts with me, I have to be better and give confidence to the group. In [the 2-0 victory in] Washington, I helped us get the lead. I know it's there. I showed it the other night."

According to the Ottawa Sun, young forward Chris Kreider is being dangled as trade bait.

The Rangers have shopped defenseman Michael Del Zotto, who was scratched from Saturday's 4-0 loss to New Jersey, in the past, and are still believed to be willing to trade him, for the right deal.
