Del Zotto is one of only a handful of unsigned restricted free agents heading into training camps across the NHL. Camps open on Sunday.
Guy and Meehan are also in talks with the Montreal Canadiens about another restricted free agent, defenseman P.K. Subban, who is also unsigned.
Del Zotto, 22, is coming off his three-year, entry-level contract. He's believed to be looking for between $3 million and $4 million a season on a new multi-year contract.
The former first-round pick played in Switzerland for Rapperswil of the Swiss National A League where he recorded two goals and five assists for seven points in nine games.
In 77 games with the Rangers last season, Del Zotto tallied 10 goals and 31 assists for 41 points.
