Redden finished in New York?

It appears Wade Redden's tenure as a member of the Rangers is coming to an end, as the New York Post reports the veteran defenseman will likely be waived next month.

According to the Post, the additions of left wing Alexander Frolov and center Todd White suggests the Rangers plan on moving Redden and his salary to create additional salary cap space.

However, the paper also claims Redden will be given every opportunity to prove his worth to the club.

The Rangers are still negotiating with restricted free agent defenseman Marc Staal. While talks haven't gone exactly as the team had liked, there is a chance he will remain unsigned heading into training camp.

The Rangers also have $1.125 million dedicated to seventh-defenseman Steve Eminger, who may also be expandable.

Redden was told during last season's exit meetings that he will have to earn a spot during camp. If he competes well, there is a chance he sticks with the Rangers for the 2010-11 campaign.

Meanwhile, the Post reports the Rangers showed interested in rearguard Shaone Morrisonn, who signed a two-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres.
