Unrestricted free agent left wing Alexander Frolov appears to be joining the New York Rangers, according to Russian newspaper SovSports.
The paper claims Frolov will sign a one-year contract with the Rangers, however TSN is reporting a deal has not yet been finalized.
Frolov, 28, registered 19 goals and 32 assists last season with the Los Angeles Kings, a team that tried to re-sign him.
The Kings, New York Islanders and Florida Panthers were among the teams believed to be interested in Frolov.
Frolov's agent, Sergei Isakov, told SovSports his client will sign a one-year deal and then decide whether he'll stay in the NHL or leave for the Russian KHL.
