Rangers coach wants to see changes
TheFourthPeriod.com

Following back-to-back embarrassing losses, Rangers head coach John Tortorella wants to see change, reports the New York Daily News.

The Rangers currently sit 10th in the Eastern Conference with 27 points.

"The locker room sooner or later has to take some ownership as far as how we're gonna go about this," Tortorella told the paper. "It's about accountability ... individual players taking responsibility for their play."

While it's uncertain if any change will come via the trade market, the Rangers have already started tinkering with their lineup.

Forward Enver Lisin rode the bench during Saturday's game, while Brian Boyle was a healthy scratch.

Rangers GM Glen Sather has been shopping forward Chris Higgins, who has just seven points in 25 games this year, but hasn't been able to find a suitor.

I'm not sure what can be done at this point in the season, but there's only so much a coach can do, even one as vocal as Torts. The players need to step up, that much is certain. Management is looking for outside help, but the players can't bank on that, and they should know that. -- David Pagnotta
