Grabner packs up to go home
TheFourthPeriod.com

New York Islanders forward Michael Grabner is flying back home to Austria to play for his hometown team of EC VSV Villach.

Grabner, who will turn 25 on Friday, announced via his Twitter account that he was flying back overseas to play, obviously excited to lace the skates for his hometown during the NHL lockout.

Last season, the young forward agreed to a five-year, $15 million contract with the Islanders.

In 78 games with the Isles last season, Grabner posted 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points.
