According to the New York Post, Islanders goalie Martin Biron was preparing himself for what he thought was a move on trade deadline day.
Biron was the subject of a number of trade reports leading up to Wednesday's deadline, but with Rick DiPietro out of action due to swelling in his surgically repaired left knee, the Islanders decided to hold on to him.
"There was a lot of stress leading up [to the deadline] and so much buildup," Biron told the Post. "But nothing happened. I talked to [Isles GM Garth Snow] and coach [Scott] Gordon and some guys and it's done and that's the way it is. We're all adults. You have conversations and express your displeasure . . . and now it's over. We're all professionals. Was it hard? It was hard. You move forward. You can't live in the past."
Fellow netminder Dwayne Roloson was also the subject of a variety of trade rumors, and discussions that never materialized to a deal.
