According to the New York Post, Islanders GM Garth Snow may be looking to trade veteran defenseman Brendan Witt in the coming weeks.
The paper notes such a trade would not be considered a point of selling, as Witt could command a solid price and could be replaced in the lineup by some of the Islanders' rising prospects.
The Post believes if the Islanders can acquire a second-round draft pick as part of a package for Witt, they may be inclined to pull the trigger.
