Jovanovski rejected trade to Islanders TheFourthPeriod.com
With various published reports suggests the Phoenix Coyotes may look to trade defenseman Ed Jovanovski, one team that isn't likely to acquire him is the Islanders.
According to the New York Post, Jovanovski used his no-trade clause to turn down a trade to the Isles this past summer.
Jovanovski, who earns an average of $6.5 million per season, is attracting a lot of interest from various reports across the league, but he would have to approve any trade agreed upon in order for it to be accepted by the league.
The Islanders signed defenseman Andy Sutton during the off-season, and added Bryan Berard shortly after the year started.
Jovanovski, who many believe will be traded somewhere this season, will have the final say on any trade the Coyotes complete. Phoenix would want good young talent in return, something many teams might not be willing to give up.
