Islanders sign free-agent Fedotenko

  TFP has learned that the New York Islanders have signed unrestricted free agent winger Ruslan Fedotenko to a one-year contract.

The native of Kiev, USSR (Russia) will earn $2.9 million next season.

Fedotenko, 28, played in 80 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season, registering 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points.

In 465 career NHL games, Fedotenko has accumulated 107 goals and 99 assists for 206 points, with a plus-23 rating and 285 penalty minutes.
