Devils shopping goalie Hedberg

The New Jersey Devils have been dangling veteran goaltender Johan Hedberg as trade bait after acquiring Cory Schneider from the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.

Hedberg, 40, owns a no-trade clause, but a source close to the situation told TFP he would be willing to waive it under the right conditions.

The Devils spoke with Hedberg's camp soon after they acquired Schneider.

In 19 games with the Devils this past season, Hedberg posted a 6-10-3 record with a 2.76 goals-against-average and a .883 save percentage.

The native of Leksand, Sweden, has one-year left on his current contract that pays him $1.4 million.
