TheFourthPeriod.com

The Nashville Predators will not be signing college prospect Jimmy Vesey, as first reported by TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

According to McKenzie, Vesey's representatives informed the Predators today that "their client will be exercising his right to unrestricted free agency on Aug. 15."

Vesey, a 2012 third-round draft pick of the Predators, wrapped up his tenure at Harvard on Friday.

The Predators declined to comment about the latest developments.

Vesey, who turns 23 on May 26, will be highly coveted by several teams between now and Aug. 15.

In 33 games with Harvard this season, Vesey registered 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points.
