One down, more to go for Preds

With Roman Josi locked up to a new seven-year contract, the Predators will shift their focus to the club's other remaining restricted free agents.

Forwards Nick Spaling, Matt Halischuk and Bobby Butler, and defensemen Jonathon Blum and Victor Bartley can all become RFAs on July 5.

Predators GM David Poile told the Nashville Tennessean he has yet to make any decisions about the club's five main RFAs or impending unrestricted free agents.

According to the paper, Poile will likely come to a decision on whether to qualifying the five remaining RFAs by the end of the week.

Forwards Brandon Yip and Chris Mueller, and goaltender Chris Mason can all hit the open market at UFAs next month.

Poile is also fielding calls for the fourth-overall pick, which he is willing to trade if the Predators can get their hands on a top-six forward as a centerpiece to a deal.

The Predators will be looking to boost their offense this off-season.
