The Nashville Predators have signed goaltender Chris Mason to a two-year contract extension worth $3 million per year.
Mason, 31, would have been an unrestricted free agent after next season. He will make $1.25 million next season.
Mason became the Predators' new No.1 goaltender after the team traded Tomas Vokoun to Florida on June 22, 2007.
In 84 career regular-season NHL games, all with the Predators, Mason has posted a 41-21-6 record, with a 2.43 goals-against-average and a .921 save percentage.
