Will Tokarski stay in Montreal?

The Cinderella story that is Montreal Canadiens goaltending prospect Dustin Tokarski has been one of the hot storylines during the Habs-Rangers Eastern Conference Final.

In his three games played with the club in the series, Tokarski has impressed his critics by recording a .917 save percentage and 2.62 goals-against-average -- and doing so under such pressure.

Tokarski's play may make things complicated for the Habs goaltending situation next year, with two solid candidates to be a backup for starter Carey Price.

Slovakian native Peter Budaj has acted as Price's back up for the majority of the Habs season, recording a 10-8-3 record and a .909 save percentage. The 31-year-old unrestricted free agent is signed with the club throughout the 2014-15 season.

Meanwhile, Tokarski, who spent the majority of the season in the AHL, just signed a two-year contract extension with the Habs back in April worth $1.1 million.

Prior to his current playoff stint, Tokarski registered a 2-0-0 record in a brief stretch with the Habs back in March.

It will be interesting to watch the Habs goalie situation closely both after the playoffs, and the days leading up to the June 27-28 NHL Draft.
