Habs ink goalie Tokarski to 2-year deal

The Montreal Canadiens have signed goaltender Dustin Tokarski to a two-year contract extension through the 2015-16 NHL season.

In three games with the Canadiens this season, Tokarski registered a 2-0-0 record, including his first career win with the Canadiens on March 5 at Anaheim.

Tokarski earned his first career shutout in the NHL, a 2-0 win on March 16 at Buffalo.

The 24-year-old participated in 40 games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs thus far this season, registering a 20-15-3 record, with one shutout, a 2.36 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

A native of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Tokarski was the Tampa Bay Lightning's third pick (fifth round, 122nd overall) at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

He was acquired from Tampa Bay for Cedrick Desjardins on February 14, 2013.
