Galchenyuk to miss first-round of playoffs

The Montreal Canadiens will be without winger Alex Galchenyuk for their first round of the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Galchenyuk left Wednesday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks after being hit into the boards by Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw.

The 20-year-old underwent an MRI on Thursday, as the team announced he sustained a lower-body injury.

Galchenyuk has 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 64 games with the Habs this season.

Home-ice advantage for the Habs-Lightning series will be determined this weekend. The Habs must win against the New York Rangers, while the Lightning must fall to the Washington Capitals in order for the Canadiens to obtain home-ice advantage.
