Kaberle informed he'll be bought out

The Montreal Candiens have informed veteran defenseman Tomas Kaberle that he will be bought out as soon as the club is able to do so.

Teams are allowed to start buying out players 48 hours after the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final and through July 4.

Kaberle, 35, is in the final-year of a three-year, $12.75 million contract.

He is set to earn $4.5 million next season, though his cap hit is $4.25 million.

Kaberle will now be paid $1.5 million, per year, in each of the next two seasons, as part of his buyout.

In 10 games with the Habs this past season, the four-time NHL All-Star registered three assists and a plus-4 rating.
