The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed defensmean Davis Drewiske to a two-year contract extension. Financial terms are not yet known.

Drewiske, 28, was acquired by Montreal from the Los Angeles Kings on Apr. 2, 2013.

In 29 games with the Kings and Canadiens this season, Drewiske registered two goals and five assists for seven points.

"We are happy to have come to an agreement with Davis on a two-year contract," said Habs GM Marc Bergevin. "He brings experience and most importantly depth to our group of defensemen."

A native of Hudson, Wisconsin, Drewiske has accumulated five goals and 20 assists, along with 67 penalty minutes, in 135 career NHL regular-season games.
