Canadiens weighing their options
TheFourthPeriod.com

With Mike Cammalleri out of action for at least the next six weeks, the Canadiens may be on the verge of increasing their attempts to acquire a top-six forward.

According to various sources, the Habs have been exploring the possibility of acquiring a top-six sniper for several weeks.

Montreal GM Bob Gainey has been speaking with a number of teams, but so far he's come up empty, despite being reportedly linked to having interest in the likes of Carolina's Ray Whitney and St. Louis' Paul Kariya.

The Montreal Gazette reports Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak is the team's most attractive trading asset.
