The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed restricted free agent center Tomas Plekanec to a one-year, $2.75 million contract, avoiding arbitration.
Plekanec, 26, played in 80 games for Montreal last season, registering 20 goals and 19 assists.
The native of Kladno, Czech Republic was drafted by the Habs in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
