Canadiens sign defensemen Spacek, Gill

The Montreal Canadiens have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Jaroslav Spacek to a three-year, $11.5 million contract.

Spacek, 35, made $3.3 million with the Buffalo Sabres last season when he notched eight goals and 37 assists.

The Canadiens have also signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Hal Gill to a two-year, $4.5 million contract.
