Habs shopping for defenseman?

TheFourthPeriod.com

According to various reports, the Montreal Canadiens would like to retool their blueline and are trying to add another defenseman via trade.

The Ottawa Sun reports Canadiens GM Bob Gainey has been busy making phone calls in an attempt to acquire a blueliner.

The Habs are still in the mix for unrestricted free agent center Mats Sundin, but a more pressing need might be improving their defensive core.

Montreal has been reportedly shopping forward Steve Begin and defensemen Francis Bouillon and Mathieu Dandenault.
