Sundin decision on the way?

TheFourthPeriod.com

According to the Toronto Star, the Montreal Canadiens should know Mats Sundin's intentions before the end of the weekend.

Sundin was to speak with his agent and the Canadiens on Friday about his future in the NHL and the possibility of joining the Habs.

The Maple Leafs have pitched a one-year, $7 million offer for Sundin, but the Star reports the Canadiens will easily match it.

Sources tell TFP the Habs would prefer to sign Sundin to a two-year agreement.

The Star reports Sundin left his initial talk with Habs GM Bob Gainey highly impressed, but no decision has been made.
