Wild looking for help between the pipes

The Minnesota Wild is considering acquiring a goaltender prior to the March 5 trade deadline, and speculation is running wild that a deal could be made sooner.

Wild GM Chuck Fletcher appears to be on the lookout for help between the pipes, as goalie Josh Harding is out of action with Multiple Sclerosis Treatment.

Rumors starting to swirl Monday morning over a potential trade for Buffalo Sabres netminder Ryan Miller, however those reports appear to be premature, according to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

"Wild may require a goalie if Harding is out long term but with only 5 games left before Oly break, likely to ride it out until then to get clearer read on status," McKenzie wrote on his Twitter account earlier today.

McKenzie added that he doesn't "sense anything is necessarily imminent" with respect to the Sabres trading Miller, although Buffalo GM Tim Murray is actively taking calls.

Harding has been very solid this season for Minnesota, posting an 18-7-3 record with a 1.66 goals-against-average, a .933 save percentage and three shutouts.
