The Minnesota Wild has signed veteran right wing Jason Pominville to a five-year, $28 million contract extension.

Pominville, 30, was acquired by the Wild in an April trade from Buffalo.

He collected four goals and five assists in 10 games with the Wild after being traded to Minnesota.

In 586 career NHL regular-season games with the Sabres and Wild, Pominville has accumulated 189 goals and 276 assists for 465 points, along with 147 penalty minutes.

His most offensive season game in 2007-08 when he tallied 27 goals and a career-high 53 assists for a career-high 80 points.

Pominville was originally drafted by the Sabres in the second-round (55th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
