Wild signs Cooke for 3-years

The Minnesota Wild has signed unrestricted free agent forward Matt Cooke to a three-year, $7.5 million contract.

Cooke, 34, tallied eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points, and 36 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.

In 935 career NHL regular-season games, Cooke has accumulated 153 goals and 207 assists for 360 points, along with 1,068 penalty minutes and a plus-53 rating.

He was originally selected by Vancouver in the sixth-round (144th overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
