The Minnesota Wild has signed unrestricted free agent center John Madden to a one-year, $1 million contract.
Madden, 37, scored 10 goals and added 13 assists for 23 points in 79 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, helping the team capture the Stanley Cup championship.
In 791 career NHL regular-season games with the New Jersey Devils and Blackhawks, Madden has accumulated 150 goals and 170 assists for 320 points, with 205 penalty minutes.
