According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Wild is close to signing defenseman Marek Zidlicky to a contract extension, but the two sides appear to have hit a snag.
The paper claims Zidlicky, who would receive a three-year deal, insists on having a no-trade clause for the entire contract.
The Wild, however, is only interested in offering a no-trade option for part of the new deal.
"I would like to stay here obviously," Zidlicky told the Star-Tribune. "I like the city, I like the fans, I like the team. We will see."
If a contract is not reached, the Wild will likely trade Zidlicky, who has attracted plenty of interest from around the league.
Sources tell TFP, though, that the two sides will sign an agreement later today.
Meanwhile, the Star-Tribune suggests the Wild is entertaining offers for veteran forward Owen Nolan and would be willing to trade center Eric Belanger.
