The Minnesota Wild has presented an offer to former Montreal Canadiens captain Saku Koivu and expects a decision to be made later today.
Koivu spent 13 seasons in Montreal, 10 of which as the team's captain.
The Habs notified him yesterday that they are moving in a different direction and will not be re-signing him.
Koivu's brother, Mikko, is a star in Minnesota and the Wild is hoping to reunite the two.
It's believed the Wild has pitched a three-year offer to Koivu, who made $4.75 million with the Habs last season.
