Wild could look to make moves TheFourthPeriod.com
Wild GM Doug Risebrough could be active during this year's NHL Entry Draft, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported this week.
While Risebrough told the paper he doesn't believe the Wild will trade up from the 24th overall pick in the first-round of the draft, he has been talking to other teams about making a move or two.
"Talking to GMs, to move significantly is a significant price, and that usually creates volatility in your lineup," Risebrough told the Star-Tribune. "We have enough holes we have to cover without trying to create more holes."
The Wild is supposedly among the teams interested in Florida Panthers center Olli Jokinen. If a deal is reached, the team will likely have to part with its first-round pick.
According to the Star-Tribune, Minnesota is shopping veteran forward Mark Parrish, while the team could be dangling young forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard as trade bait.
Bouchard, a restricted free agent, has yet to hear from the Wild about a new contract.
Meanwhile, the Wild pitched a new contract offer to impending unrestricted free agent Brian Rolston on Friday.
The Wild sound optimistic a deal will be reached before the draft, which begins on Friday.
