Wild hope to re-sign Rolston TheFourthPeriod.com
According to The Canadian Press, the Minnesota Wild hopes to sign Brian Rolston before he becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1.
Negotiations between the two sides are believed to be heading in the right direction, and Wild GM Doug Risebrough has made re-signing Rolston his top priority.
"I think the fact that we're talking means we can get it done," Risebrough told The Canadian Press, "and we will make an attempt to do that."
Rolston has expressed a desire to stay in Minnesota, while Risebrough would like to have a deal in place before the June 20-21 NHL Entry Draft.
The Wild is expected to present Rolston and his agent, Steve Bartlett, a new offer this weekend.
If the Wild re-sign Rolston, they will not attempt to retain the services of forward Pavol Demitra.
