Veteran winger Marian Gaborik could be playing in his last season with the Los Angeles Kings.
Gaborik, 35, has four-year left on his contract that comes with a $4.875 million salary cap hit. His actual salary goes from $5.075 million next season down to $3.075 million in 2020-21.
However, as TFP first reported in early-February, along with John Hoven of MayorsManor.com, the Kings had been shoping Gaborik for several months leading up to the trade deadline.
Multiple sources close to the organization have told TFP the club has grown exceedingly frustrated with Gaborik's performance and lackadaisical effort this season.
Gaborik is not expected to be protected in the June expansion draft, though it would surprise many if the Vegas Golden Knights selected him.
Kings GM Dean Lombardi will attempt to move Gaborik again this off-season and there is growing belief the consideration of a buyout is real possibility.
In 46 games with the Kings so far this season, Gaborik has registered nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. He picked up 12 goals and 22 points in 54 games with the team last season.
