TheFourthPeriod.com

The Los Angeles Kings have avoided salary arbitration with restricted free agent center Trevor Lewis, signing him to a one-year, $1.325 million contract.

Lewis' arbitration hearing was scheduled for August 2.

The 26-year-old registered five goals and nine assists for 14 points, along with 19 penalty minutes, in 48 games with the Kings this past season.

In 203 career NHL regular-season games, all with the Kings, Lewis has accumulated 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points, and 51 penalty minutes.

The native of Salt Lake City, Utah, was originally drafted 17th overall by the Kings in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
