The native of Ithaca, New York, has played his entire nine-year NHL career with the Kings and became the first player in team history to hoist the Stanley Cup when the Kings eliminated the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Final in June 2012.
Brown was named the 15th captain in team history on Oct. 8, 2008, becoming the only American-born team captain and youngest in team history.
In 641 career regular-season games, Brown has accumulated 181 goals and 207 assists for 388 points, along with 452 penalty minutes.
Brown, who was an NHL All-Star in 2009, has ranked either first, second or third in the league in hits from 2006-07 to 2011-12, while ranking eighth in hits last season.
He was drafted by the Kings in the first round (13th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut Oct. 9, 2003 at Detroit.
