Kings trying to re-sign Scuderi
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Los Angeles Kings remain in ongoing discussions with unrestricted free agent defenseman Rob Scuderi about signing a new deal with the club.

Scuderi, 34, wrapped up a four-year, $13.6 million contract with the Kings.

Several teams have already approached Scuderi about his availability, as clubs are now permitted to speak with free agents, but cannot officially sign anyone until July 5.

With limited salary cap space, it's unclear what type of contract the Kings are looking to sign Scuderi for.

In all 48 games with the Kings this past season, Scuderi registered one goals and 11 assists for 12 points.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion has played in 585 career NHL regular-season games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Kings, and has accumulated seven goals and 79 assists for 86 points.
