Voynov gets six-year extension

The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with defenseman Slava Voynov on a new six-year, $25 million contract.

Voynov, 23, will earn an average of $4.167 million per year on his new deal.

In 48 games with the Kings this past season, Voynov registered six goals and 19 assists for 25 points.

Drafted by the Kings in the second-round (32nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Voynov has played in 102 career regular-season games and has accumulated 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points.

Voynov turned down a deal a multi-year offer from Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL.
