As the New Jersey Devils attempt to renegotiate a long-term contract with unrestricted free agent left wing Ilya Kovalchuk, the Los Angeles Kings may have re-entered the mix.
According to the Ottawa Sun, the Kings are back in the hunt for Kovalchuk after his 17-year, $102 million contract was rejected by an independent arbitrator.
The Devils are trying to get Kovalchuk inked to a new deal, though the paper hints Los Angeles could be a destination.
Kovalchuk had rejected two of the Kings' offers prior to agreeing to re-join the Devils.
