Kings, Frolov talking contract
TheFourthPeriod.com

Kings forward Alexander Frolov's contract runs out after this season and talks have already begun about a new deal, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Kings GM Dean Lombardi and Frolov's agent, Don Meehan, has discussed an extension, but negotiations haven't been overly impressive so far.

"There's been no stalemate, just kind of the nature of the business," Lombardi told the Times this week.

The Kings are hoping Frolov can produce big numbers this season, which will ultimately evolve into a higher paycheck.

It's uncertain a deal will be reached, though talks are expected to extend well into the season.

I don't see a deal working out this quickly. Frolov does enjoy playing in California and I can see something working out much later in the season, if at all. Frolov needs to prove he's an elite player worth elite dollars. -- David Pagnotta
