Kings set to pursue Hossa?

TheFourthPeriod.com

While reports have linked Los Angeles to showing interest in Minnesota Wild sniper Marian Gaborik, another player appears to be on the Kings' radar.

It's believed the Kings will pitch an offer to Detroit Red Wings star forward Marian Hossa if he hits the unrestricted free agent market tomorrow at noon ET.

Hossa, who made $7.45 million this past season, is supposedly looking for a long-term contract worth around $6.25 million per year.

Last summer, Hossa rejected several huge long-term offers to accept a one-year deal with the Red Wings in hope of capturing a Stanley Cup championship.

The Kings are also trying to bolster their blueline by acquiring a veteran star defenseman.

Various reports have linked them to Edmonton Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray, who has a no-trade clause.

From the Editor: I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings are very active over the next 7 days. They have plenty of cash to spend, and they're itching to get their team better next season and into the playoffs. -- David Pagnotta.
