Panthers unveil interesting sales tactics

Watch any Florida Panthers home game and it's no secret the team continues to struggle with its attendance.

The team's 83.6% capacity rate ranks 25th in the NHL, while their 14,710 in average attendance ranking 27th.

While snowbirds and native Floridians opt to bask in the sun, the team has implementing some interesting marketing tactics to entice potential attendees.

From now through March 27, the Panthers are offering free tickets for Tuesday and Thursday night games in exchange for $10 worth of non-winning Florida lottery scratch tickets.

The deal is in addition to already low ticket prices, with individual upper-level tickets being sold as low as $19.50.

Surprisingly, the Panthers aren't even last in the league in terms of average ticket cost.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Phoenix Coyotes are currently the most affordable team to see with an average price of $76.65. The Toronto Maple Leafs hold the No. 1 spot with individual tickets being sold at an average of $368.60.
