According to the South-Florida Sun-Sentinel, Panthers forward Scottie Upshall is expected to be out for the foreseeable future as he is scheduled to undergo sports hernia surgery on Thursday.
The 28-year-old had been sidelined in December with a core injury, but had returned to action for a few contests against the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Instead, the Panthers officially announced that the veteran winger would undergo surgery and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.
In 17 games this season, Upshall has accumulated one goal and two assists for three points, and 25 penalty minutes.
