Florida goalie Tomas Vokoun may be a hot commodity in the public eye, but that doesn't mean the Panthers are on the verge of trading him.

Despite numerous reports suggesting otherwise, I have been told by two realiable sources that as of early this afternoon, the Panthers have not approached Vokoun about waiving his no-trade clause.

Vokoun, 34, has one-year remaining on his current contract and would have to approve any deal the Panthers try to make.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals are reportedly interested in Vokoun, but trade talks have not gotten to the point where Panthers GM Randy Sexton has felt the need to broach the subject with Vokoun.

In 51 games with the Panthers this season, Vokoun has posted a 19-21-10 record with a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .931 save percentage.

A trade is still very possible with the deadline just over 25 hours away, and Vokoun appears open to the idea, but so far he's still a Panther.

The Panthers are also closing in on other moves, as defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and forwards Rostislav Olesz, Cory Stillman and Steve Reinprecht, among others, are attracting plenty of interest.
